Months ago, more and more owners had been victimize by these Robbers. There was an incident that a guy was robbed by a group who pretended to be looking for a Stud Dog. He was stunned by the a guy. And take note, this guy daw has female companions with him.
It was shown on TV. I really don't know the whole story but i think this is a threat to all Dog Owners.
I hope we can give suggestions on what to do incase someone encounters people like these BAD GUYS. suggestions on how to prevent these instances
Imagine, you are walking your dog in a park or in your own home, then someone forcefully took your dogs...
I have posted this topic on other site to help pet owners

Nice thread batusai  Yes, dognapping has become a huge problem in the past few years.
The way they use to do it, was give you a fake check, or counterfeit money to take your dog away. The other way was a snatch and grab when they distracted you in one way or another to get the dog alone.
I know this, because when this was a big trend...I had several different persons attempt such fake checks, and a (thought) of a snatch and grab, until my husband made it known that our firearm was in reach just in case of any problems...needless to say, those guys bowed out gracefully and quickly.
I also had a few friends who were breeders, that were robbed of their dogs using the fake checks...then later encountered their dogs being resold through the buy and sell magazine.
I can tell you what...as the thieves changed their methods of how to rob breeders, I changed my methods of how much access I gave to my kennel.
It has worked for me, and we have not become anyones victim and continue to take precautions not to end up that way.
I would say to breeders, do not freely allow just anyone to come to your place of residence and move around your kennel in such a way that can be harmful to your family.
You should always put the safety of your family first! Money is not the most important thing in life, especially if it costs you or your loved one their life.
You as the breeder, should set the stage as to what conditions you will allow your puppy(ies) to be viewed. You set the time and date, and dictate how many persons will be allowed to enter your gate.
Never do night showings...many will insist this because of work restraints, make a showing on their day off or the weekend, but not night time...it puts you at a disadvantage.
Do your best to screen the person who wants to view your pup(s). Change the date at the last minute, and reschedule at a later time. That way if they are setting you up, it throws off their plans and it could be effective.
For me personally, I dont allow anyone to come to my kennel. I do things via internet, phone, etc. There is no position that a camera shot cant take to show the pup(s) in a satisfactory type of light. If the potential owner does not agree with it, I respect that and suggest they look elsewhere for a puppy...but I wont put my family at risk just to rehome a pup.
As far as stud service. I don't offer it, but I have in the past with other breeds. It is not something I enjoyed doing, so I no longer practice that.
If you are offering stud service, start making it a must that the person be referred to you by a known friend, companion, fellow dog breeder, etc. Don't entertain complete strangers.
Luckily they have not killed anyone...but that is a YET...they have already begun tying up the family, threating them, using physical violence, and even using stun guns on the victims.
Please stay safe, and if anyone else has some suggestions as to how a breeder can protect themselves please post it here. :D

i guess when potential buyers would like to look at the litter sa house nyo, invite some trusted neighbors to your house at the said time..there's power in numbers most of the time ;) even make some of them stay in front of your house din.
yeah, no late afternoon or night viewing as well.:)
