View Full Version : Cute Kitty Adopted

We went to the Fort to listen, but we came home with a kitten! ^^

Meet KC!
http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9560/img1293oc9.th.jpg (http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img1293oc9.jpg)

We found her playing by herself on the stone walk in front of the Kenneth Cole store in High Street.

http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/4678/img1294gd3.th.jpg (http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img1294gd3.jpg)

She's very tiny, maybe less than a month old, but quite the voracious eater. I had bought my cats some Natural Balance canned food, and I opened up one can for her. She devoured it. :)

I was afraid she might be hurt by kids who might play rough with her, so we decided to take her home. Unfortunately, I already have a full house with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 humans taking up a small bachelor pad. :(

If anyone is interested, please send me a PM or email (mailto:outsyinsy@gmail.com) me. ^^ I plan to release her after about a month or so, and if you do adopt her, you'll get a free litter pan (she knows how to use it ^^)!

Thanks for your replies, everyone! KC is as happy as can be playing with the other cats at home. :) We'll be bringing them all to the vet for their shots and check-up on Sunday, so let's cross our fingers nothing's wrong with her. :)

@ronnie
Cats aren't as dependent on human care as dogs. As long as you feed her well, and provide toys for her amusement, I'm sure she won't mind being left alone during the daytime. You can also get another cat for companionship, and just watch them playing with each other like crazy. ^^

I made a LOLcat (http://mine.icanhascheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=2173864) out of a photo I took of KC with my other cat and dog one REALLY early morning while they were asleep on a bedcover on our couch.

Naturally, the cats didn't take too well to the dogs in the beginning. But they start to mellow in a week, and they can thrive pretty well together. Un nga lang, the dogs like to play rough, so sometimes KC does cry out when they start poking her with their noses. :) She's a drama queen. :-@

Hey Hazeru...is KC still available for adoption? How old is she? Is she very alert, and playful??
We are looking for a kitty who can grow up at our new store...but we need her to be a good mouser, my male is a great mouser...very keen and alert. My girl is very good at killing cock roaches who dare venture into the house.

We would have her spayed of course, her anti-rabies, shots, deworming, give her a nice kitty condo, toys to play with, and plenty of food and fresh water to eat. As well as a nice soft bed to curl up in.

She would be able to greet customers if she likes, or just sleep all day like kitties like to do.

If you are still looking for a home for her, we hope you would consider us a candidate. :D

Hi CC!

Yes, she's still available. :) We took her to the vet last month and the vet estimated her to be around a month old, so she must be two months old now. ^^ She's VERY playful and will run around the apartment at full speed every day.

I can't say if she's a mouser, though. We don't have mice (thankfully) at home, but we do have small roaches, and she likes to chase those around--sometimes eat them too.

She's due for her anti-rabies and vaccination shots next week, cos she had something like an eye infection last time and the vet didn't want to complicate things. Her eye's cleared up now, btw. ^^

She's people-friendly, but doesn't seek humans like my other cats. She WILL lie down next to you on the bed, though. Hehe.

These are the latest photos we have of her:

Cleaned her ears today, and boy, does she like to use her teeth!

She also has the most expressive tail I've ever seen. Every time she runs over and starts talking, the tip of her tail will start swishing back and forth like crazy. It's sooo cute. }l{

Is there a specific reason why a cat would be like that? My other cats don't have such swishy tails e. :D

ChubbyCheek
11-06-2008, 08:42 PM
Hehehee, sounds like we will have our hands full. My kitties hate ear cleaning also...but they are pretty good about it. It is really easy to cut their nails also, but it took constant training to get them to accept it so easily.
We will work with her and I am sure she will be ok after a few sessions also.
We are really excited to welcome her to the family. =}

Thanks dc...we got her yesterday...saturday! :D She stole our hearts already..hehehe She is really a comedian. Talks like a Siamese...I mean constantly.
I respond to her, "really KC?", "oh my", "is that so?"..and she just goes on and on with her conversation..hehehee
She has a new kitty condo, many toys, treats, and can roam around the store as she pleases. Although she preferred to sit on my lap while I was grooming, or curl up on the table beside the dog while they are getting their haircut. Had to distract her with her catnip mouse toy..hehehee Her favorite hiding place is behind the food on the Royal Canin rack.
We dewormed her on Sat. night, and will get her shots on Monday. She is eating her food well...Kat N Flocken (Solid Gold), and we will start her on some soft canned foods Monday.

We are soo happy with KC...she fits in like we had her forever. }l{

I will post pictures of her on this thread next week.

Thank you Hazeru and family, for letting us have her...we will take great care of her like you did. We are so lucky you have such a big heart to rescue such a precious little girl like her.
Our staff is calling her swerte, and sosyal...he says she is "big time"...whatever he means by that :rolleyes:

We just feel lucky to have her in our family now. :D

We are hoping she has a long, and comfy life ahead of her. :D She will be going to both stores, hopefully she will like it. She seems to adjust super fast to any situation. A plus for sure, cause some cats can not adjust so easily.
Excited to take pics and post them of our new little lady. =+

Aww Hazeru...I knew you would miss her, she is a dollbaby. Here are some pics of her we took today. She actually gained weight over the weekend, cause she loves to eat. :-@ She had her nails cut this evening. Unfortunately we were not able to take her for her boosters today, but will take care of that tomorrow for sure. :D
She is doing well, and very happy. She is not yet ready to greet customers, but when it is quiet in the store, she is on the counter, the shelves, and just about everywhere...talking up a storm as usual.
Hope you enjoy her pics. :D

Thanks nj! :D That food in her bowl is her dry Katz N Flocken, and the wet is Friskies ocean fish...just to give her a bit of variety. We are trying different wet foods with her to see what is her fave. Have not found it yet, but will keep trying. She basically lives in her food bowl...hehehehe She is so funny to see run and eat, then meow, meow, meow...jump on your lap for some cuddles, then back to the bowl again. :-@

KC had her vaccination shot today, and she took it like a Champ. =+ She is now greeting customers, and playing with their feet when they come into the store. I hope they like cats cause there is nothing shy about this little girl. :-@

Found her fave soft food...Fancy Feast Sliced Beef. She goes wild for the stuff. Eats the dry, then moves over to the wet. :kitty:

nice pictures! it looks like KC is very happy with her new home. The reason why they called her Big time is because normally for Filipinos if its a mix breed or a "regular" cat they don't spoil them that much. hard to understand why but i guess that's just the way it is. Anyway back to kc hope to see more of her pictures, have she met your two other babies CC?

Thanks dc...she made it super easy cause she is very active...also thanks for that info. :D She has not met Blue and Candy yet. After she gets all her shots, we will try to give them a face to face. After all they need to meet at one time or another cause KC will be coming home with us from time to time....and then it will be forever. =}

11-15-2008, 07:51 PM
^Hehehe, that is for sure :-@ She even snapped up a piece of dog food that fell to the floor while we were doing kilos..hehehe
We have been asked on 3 occasions what breed is KC. We say she is a puskal..and the customers say, "no, I don't think so...she is too strong, active, good coat and skin, and she is fat". Our employee has to always explain that she is adopted, and was rescued from the streets. He explains that she eats premium food, and wet food in the can, has toys and lots of rubs and kisses...he says that is why she is like that. The customers say no she is a breeded cat. :D What can we say, she is a gorgeous girl. }l{
I think our employee will really miss her when she goes to the other store. We catch him sitting on the chair with her curled up in his lap.
He even asked does she have a sipon in her nose because of the sound she makes...and she blinks her eyes when he looks at her.
I laughed and explained that cats purr when they are happy to show they are pleased...KC purrs constantly. And cats blink to communicate with you, that is how they talk, besides meowing. I told him just blink back to her, and watch her reaction..he laughed when she jumped up and came over to him screaming her greeting. :cool:

That would be no for a cat.:-@ That is either their personality or not. Like my female Siamese...she could never be in a busy place like a store, she would be in a panic all the time.
KC is very calm in loud noise, crowds, strange new items (new stock) arriving, etc. I think we are just soo lucky to have her, she fits like glue with the PPH family. =+

ChubbyCheek
11-25-2008, 10:04 PM
Thanks beijing! =+ Her coat is really shining, and we are trying her on Science Diet kitten to help her grow a bit. She enjoys the taste, and is getting very strong. She can jump over the office walls now, even if a door is closed..heheehe

We are keeping her away from all human food, she is learning not to beg from our staff when they eat lunch...I have already warned them of the consequence if I catch them sneaking her human food. :Foottap:

We are going to contact Doc Chua about having her spayed ASAP. She is really starting to shake her tail violently when you rub her, and she is biting your finger from time to time (soft bites, but still a very bad habit to get).
I recognize these signs of heat onsetting, so we have to nip this in the bud before it gets further along. I did not expect this now because of her size, but I think she is older than we originally thought.
Maybe her growth was a bit slow cause of her tough start on life. She only started to grow well when Hazeru took her in, so she is finally catching up...and she is getting big very quickly.

I know that female cats can come into heat as early as 4 months old, but only in the presence of a male cat that is sexually matured...which is not the case...so we think either she is 5.5 months or 6 months respectively.

Will let you all know what happens with the situation after we talk to our vet. :D

Ooh, harsh :(

Good thing I'd never tried giving her table scraps before ^^

I hope we can see her again before she gets shipped off to the Alabang branch ^^

ChubbyCheek
11-26-2008, 09:59 AM
^ hehehehe, no that is not the only reason she was fired...she is a hard headed, bossy girl.
She defies what we tell her, by saying opo that she understands...yet when our back is turned she sneaks and does the opposite.
We got KFC chicken meals for all the employees and ourselves. The girl was in the back to eat, where KC was in her bed sleeping. We are in the office and the boy in the front.
All of a sudden KC is screaming non stop and trying to jump into the girls plate of chicken! We know she never acts like that, and she does not beg from our boy nor us when we have food cause she learned day one, she won't get any.

I come from the office and KC is going crazy trying to get at the girls food. I asked her why is this, what did you do...did you give her a taste of your food? No mam'!
If it is no then why are you the only one she is chasing when we all have food on our plates, and she has never done this before you came to work in the store? I told you never to give her human food because it leads to begging and it is a problem for us.
The girl just put her head down. We had to lock KC out of the back room just so the girl could eat!

I don't accept dishonesty, nor liars. So, with that added on to some misinformation she gave to some customers who came to the store, her nonchalant way of doing important matters like checking delivery orders when they come in...it was no more need to talk...just don't come back to our store anymore.
We don't have time for anyone like that, when many need a job that actually want one. :rolleyes:

beijing
11-26-2008, 04:10 PM
she was very lucky to get a job like that. Imagine being in an air conditioned place the whole day while other people labor in the sun. Another thing is the fact that she was trusted to take care of the cash register, which is a job that requires trust of the store owner.

My receipt from your store which she prepared had so many erasures, that's why i had to clear the price of the bed with you when i was in your store because she wrote a different price. Its a good thing your husband went beside her to correct her mistakes.

True, petty lies can lead to more serious ones. So, you have a job opening at your store then cc?*)

ChubbyCheek
11-26-2008, 05:45 PM
I agree 100%...from small white lies, they become giant. Especially over something so trivial. And if you can not respect and follow 1 simple rule, while we are in the next room...what will you do when we are not in the store standing over your head?! :shocking:

Yes, we have 2 openings again, not happy about it cause we need someone to start training to pick up the basics...there is a ton of stuff to learn about pet products, care, situations, etc. We are looking for a boy and a girl for the new store. Have many applicants who called about that job and came for interviews, but we were not interested in them.

Yeah, I could tell my hubby was a bit irritated that she could not seem to understand what he was saying for her to write on the receipt. She wrote the wrong price for the bed because she is too lazy to walk around the counter and look at the bed herself...so she just took a wild guess! :rolleyes:
That is what I am talking about, the same attitude with the incoming deliveries...just checking items off the list without budging to see if they are really there in the store. :mad:

I would say she is lucky also...at 29 years old, been out of work for 4 years straight, has 2 children aged 7 and 3 years old...to find a place that will hire you on and train you is kinda hard right now. Especially with so many businesses closing down in our area. :-o

Oh well, it was her call to put on the show like that...so she had to pay the piper. :cool:

I agree 100% that it is best to see the true colors of someone in the beginning, versus finding out later, when some much more serious things could happen. The last thing you want is someone who is dishonest working for you, that has to handle cash...or be involved in your business that reflects you as a whole.

Yep lulu, that was her. That is the reason we hired her, because of her experience in cashier work. She learns fast to remember what we were teaching her in handling the customers...and she is very bright. Our boy is ok when it comes to those aspects...but no where near perfect. The most important thing about him, is he is honest with us no matter what. If he makes a mistake he can admit it, he can take scolding (and with my short temper it happens often), and he tries his best to do the job.
With the girl, only 3 days on and already making inappropriate "jokes" to customers, yelling at our male staff as if she is the trainer, showing her laziness when it came to very important tasks, not dependable to show up to work on time, and a liar.
That equals fired in no uncertain terms. I don't think she is too sad, she was just downstairs the other day in the internet cafe playing games... :rolleyes: Instead of looking for another job. At her age, with 2 kids to feed and having been out of work so long...I would say the prospects are bleak for her.

KC is at home with us tonight. She was quite shy for the first hour or less. Now she is like...whatever, I'm taking over the joint..hehehee
Our girl Candy wants nothing to do with her...while Blue is ok with her, but hates her playing with his tail.
She is all over their very big kitty condos and running all over the house...really making herself at home. She will be here with us for the next couple of days.
Surgery is in the morning tomorrow, and she will just recover here so we can keep a proper eye on her. We are sure she will be fine. :wink1:

Thanks a bunch belle! :kitty: KC had her operation today by Doc Chua (animalwonders) our trusted vet. =} She did super good, woke up after the surgery, but we kept her inside her soft sided carrier to stay warm and cozy for the ride home. She slept the whole way...got home and popped up on the couch for a long snooze. :-@
We will be have her on some antibiotics for a week...and clean her wound 3x a day till she heals well.
She will be with us 24/7 till she fully recovers. }l{ Thanks to Doc Chua, she has the type of stitches that won't need to be removed, just have to keep a watch to make sure she does not pull them out. %-)
The operation went smooth...the only thing Doc commented about was she has a fat belly, so they had to keep moving the fat out of the way to find the uterus...heheheehe Guess KC is gonna have to push back from the dinner table a bit. :-D

I will try to catch some good shots of her around the house. She likes to pop up on the couch with us.
She has not been her talkative self today...but she makes little squeaks at us from time to time. She is eating again, well her Fancy Feast Sliced Beef anyway.
But caught her nibbling on some kibbles earlier with our big boy watching her closely. :rolleyes:
She is ok with us cleaning her wound so far, and cutting her nails (we do it once a week so she gets use to it)...but taking that medicine is her least fave.

Will post some more of her hopefully tonight...she is curling up most of the time, instead of running through the house playing since the surgery. :(

She is doing good. She really stole our mom's heart during her visit this Christmas. She keeps asking us to take KC back to the States with her.
We declined...but KC really likes her a lot, sleeping with her, and following her everywhere...even looking for her after she left.
We will have to consider it, if ever then a relative will come here and pick her up so she can ride in the cabin on the flight over. :D

wow REALLY good things are happening to KC. If she were a human being, its like she won the lottery. First she won a family, second, a home and now the chance to possibly go to the States!!!!!=+=+=+
