this is Kalma from On/Off Greek Bandog Kennel
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z10/savannahmountain/bandog.jpg
this is Lucero Blazin' Blue, taken when he was only 13 months.
Bandog ( Bandogge ) descended from cross-breeding pitbulls, mastiffs and rottweilers. The literal meaning of the Bandog is taken from Band + dog giving Bound dog which refers to large and fierce dog, such as mastiffs, which were kept chained or tied up until they were released for guard dog duties or in some cases for fighting and bull and bear baiting.
The modern Bandog is primarily used as a home/family guardian but it is also the choice of an increasing number of Security agencies as a patrol and crowd control dog. It would make a good candidate for weight pulling and other K-9 sports that require raw physical strength and the eagerness to please their master.

an alaskan husky daw kasi ay parang hindi breed kungdi it parang type or category ng aso. i'll quote na lang
"It falls short of being a breed in that there is no preferred type and no restriction as to ancestry; it is defined only by its purpose, which is that of a highly efficient sled dog. That said, dog drivers usually distinguish between the Alaskan Husky and “hound crosses”, so perhaps there is informal recognition that the Alaskan Husky is expected to display a degree of northern dog type. Canary Dog (PERRO DE PRESA CANARIO)
This breed was selected and bred specifically for organized fights and became an extremely game, powerful and able fighting machine. Outlawed in 1940, dog-fighting continued as a clan-destine activity, with the quality and purity of the breeding stock deteriorating.
The Canary Dog, despite his size, is quiet and subdued in the home. Devoted to his family, he makes an excellent home guardian.

Dogo Argentino -
The Dogo Argentino is an endurance hound much like his Irish Wolfhound ancestor. He is expected to track the wild boar across vast pampas, corner the animal and attack and hold it for the hunters. He is capable of dazzling bursts of speed for short distances, but his forte is covering long distances at a gallop (hence the arched loins to give impetus at the gallop). Having cornered the boar, he must have enough strength in reserve to attack and hold a wild boar weighing up to 400 pounds. In a traditional boar hunt the hunter will jump on the boar and kill it with a knife thrust to the heart while the Dogos are locked on with a death grip.

Some of the breeds not recognized by PCCI are present in the country. They just make their own clubs. Many have their papers from abroad, and some are only for pets so they did not bother to apply for papers.
Check out this link from PCCI website. Just click into any group and you can see the breeds they recognize here...

There may be some registered...have not seen any myself. But I can bet you they are not PCCI registered, which is the only Internationally recognized kennel club in this country with any clout...so it really is the only one that matters.
If you decide to breed that breed of dog, don't expect to be granted papers for it.

cc, recognized ng PCCI ang Japanese Spitz...
<(((<, pcci registered dogs can compete... and kung manalo, like what cc said, internationally recognized... kung sa ibang dog club naman, recognized ka lang sa dog club nila... hehe
